For a while I was caught up in the braided line is god phase . While it does have it's uses I have mainly switched back to mono or fluorocarbon for most fishing applications , and when using braid I almost always tie a fluoro leader on . Since switching back to mono and fluorocarbon the amount of fish I have caught has gone up dramatically . By no means am I bashing braid but my opinions of it have changed a lot in the past months I would share . I have also found that a lot of the complaints people make about fluorocarbon lines can be avoided with a little attention to detail , ie check the line for nicks , tie your knots slowly and using a line conditioner have taken care of most of those problems .
